— Our story —

How we got here

Wedding couple

2019

We met in a Dublin bookshop.

Saoirse was reaching for Anne Enright. Daniel was reaching for the same one — he gave it to her. Coffee turned into a long walk along the canal. We've been walking together since.

2021

A pandemic, a small flat, a beagle.

We moved in together when everything else was uncertain. We got Bran. We learned to cook properly. We discovered we like the same silences.

A ring, on a beach in Connemara.

Daniel proposed at sunset on Dog's Bay. Saoirse cried. The dog wandered off. The ring was made by a friend in Limerick.

In the orchard. About 40 minutes. Bring a coat — there may be a breeze.

In the barn. Speeches between courses.

DJ until 02:00. Carriages at 02:30.

Dress code: black tie optional. The grass is soft — flat shoes welcome.

Flying in

Closest airports: Dublin (DUB, 90 min) and Cork (ORK, 100 min). Both have rental cars.

Where to stay

We've held room blocks at three hotels in Kilkenny city. Codes sent with RSVPs.

Shuttle

Coaches from Kilkenny city to the castle, 14:00 and back at 02:30. Free.

Your presence is the only present we need. If you'd still like to give something, we'd be grateful for a contribution to our honeymoon fund — we're saving for a few quiet weeks in Japan.

Things you might ask

Are children welcome?
Yes, all children are welcome. We'll have a small playroom in the castle. Bran (our beagle) will be the official greeter.
What's the weather like?
Mid-September in Ireland: 12 – 18°C, occasional rain. We have plan B for everything indoors.
Can I bring a plus-one?
If your invitation says "and guest," yes. Otherwise we kept things intimate — please understand.
Dietary requirements?
Note them on your RSVP. The kitchen can accommodate any restriction with notice.
